These patterns were created by me after I experienced no end of frustration that there are almost NO free downloadable patterns for sewing on the Web. These are totally free for anyone to use and distribute--just please don't claim that YOU made them. I have a computer and I can find out where you live. ^.~
Shown below are my renditions of what the finished pieces will look like, modeled by my lovely Juu-chan. (She's been a great sport, everybody give her a big hand!)
You can make each of the pieces shown above with these patterns--a crop top, a sport bra, a simple dress (with or without sleeves), a pair of straight slacks, a pair of panties/sport shorts, a T-shirt style top, and a super simple skirt! More experienced sewers will have a lot of fun shortening sleeves, lengthening hems, and modifying these patterns to suit their own tastes.
By using different fabric prints and adding trims and such, you'll be surprised at what variations you can come up with.
DISCLAIMER: These patterns are totally FREE and available for anyone to use. I make no guarantee that these patterns will work as well for you as they did for me. I recommend that you make up the first pieces in scrap cloth and fit them onto your doll first, making adjustments to the patterns as needed before using your "good" material.
YOU WILL NEED:
Printed patterns here and here, printed out actual size
These instructions (you should print them out for future reference)
Scissors
Straight pins
Material (firm weave lightweight cotton broadcloth is great for this stuff, except for the dress, which requires stretch knit to fit properly)
Matching thread
Needles (I use #7 Sharps)
Small snaps
Your doll, for fittings and adjustments
PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
Print out the pattern pages (dollpattern.jpg and dollpattern2.jpg) and check the measurements (make sure the 1" square on the page really is 1".) If the grey square measures less or more than 1 inch, reset your printer's specifications to print out at 72 dpi, or use a photocopier to adjust the size of the patterns if you don't want to muck about with your printer settings.
Cut out the pattern pieces carefully along the lines, or trace them onto tissue paper if desired and cut out the traced pieces.
